I'll Admit It, I'm a Copy Cat...

So it has been an incredibly long time since I've posted anything. I started this blog as part of a research study I was participating in for an online parenting class and well, let's just say I pretty much washed out. It was a lot of work to get through the material, be home for the webinars, and put in the time blogging. Needless to say, I didn't last too long...but my blog did. Here it sat, just waiting for a day in which I might be inspired enough, or more likely bored enough, to sit down and write. Actually, it was my fiance who unknowingly got me to start it up again. It seems she started a blog about the same time I started this blog and she decided to start blogging again. She sent me the link and as I read her blog, I thought to myself, "Self, you have one of these things out there in cyber-land somewhere, maybe it's time to dust it off and start writing again?" So I did, and here I am being a copy cat...

True to form, I sit rambling with no real message other than this past year has been incredible and I couldn't be happier. I met the woman of my dreams, landed a tenure track higher ed position in upstate New York, I'm set to finish my Ph.D. in the spring, and my son who was giving me so much trouble in 2010 has settled down and actually managed to be able to learn how to self-manage his behavior to the point to where he doesn't take his ADHD meds anymore. We spent the better part of 2010-11 in counseling and he learned some effective strategies to keep himself in check and he hasn't had a meltdown since 2010. It is almost as if my sweet little boy reappeared after taking 2009-10 off from the human race!

So, here I am...rambling as promised and once again, no epiphanies...
